1925 - Création de la société par la famille Ober.

1968 - Ober, alors spécialisé dans le tranchage de placages de Chêne, Frêne, Hêtre, invente le 1er panneau en bois stratifié. Composé d'un dos en krafts imprégnés, de placage de bois jointé et d'une finition spécialement développée pour imprégner le bois, ce panneau offre une résistance de surface inédite et est trés vite reconnu par les menuisiers et ébénistes pour sa facilité de mise en oeuvre. Epais de 1 mm et donc flexible, il est appelé Oberflex.

Rough cut wood veneer on a laminate substrate. Launch of the "Brut d'Ober" line, a full-size panel, made of a flexible, resistant and rough cut veneer, which can be used in the same way as standard laminates. Once applied to a substrate, it can be varnished or oiled. “Brut d’Ober" is the ideal solution for carpenters. 

The "Pastels" and "Odyssée" collections of stained veneers. “Pastels” is a collection of 12 colors. The panel is covered with a pastel stain ash veneer.

"Prestige d’Oberflex": a wide collection of wood species coated with the Oberflex finish. Prestige d’Oberflex has quickly become the go-to line for carpenters and commercial shop fitters. Rare species such as pear tree or bird's eye maple are now featured in this catalog.

The first acoustic wood panels. The method consists in punching holes through the wood panel (acoustic perforations). These holes are designed to partially absorb the sound wave, thereby improving the acoustic comfort of an interior space.

Launch of Densfloor. A densified laminate flooring hardened by gamma radiation.

Microsound, the first quick and easy-to-install, clip-on wooden ceiling slab. The slab is lined with a real wood veneer with an Oberflex® finish..

Ultra-resistant panel for high-traffic areas. Ober compact is composed of a stack of kraft sheets impregnated with thermosetting resin, lined on one side with real wood veneer with an Oberflex finish and a backing board on the other side.

Thanks to an in-house innovative system, Oberflex launches the first relief panels. The wood veneers are updated with a very modern sandblasted effect with the Oberflex surface resistance feature. Oberflex.

Deck d’Ober is created: a panel made of real wood slats joined together in the style of a boat deck and designed for the floors and walls of bathrooms, showers, swimming pools decks, dressing rooms and bedrooms.

Spiced wood collection, an elegant collection. A subtle play of contrasts between the wood colors and very natural shades.

By having its chain of custody certified, Oberflex can offer PEFC certified products to its customers.

Ober acquires Marotte, the specialist in high-end cabinet panels. Marotte was founded in 1947 by Pierre Marotte. The Marotte brand celebrates its 70th anniversary.

Oberflex wins the Innovation Award for its new Tectonic 5.5 integral suspended ceiling system at the Batimat International Show.

An exclusive collection of decorative panels, composed of 36 models grouped into 6 categories, each available in 6 natural wood species. The surface of the wood is polished and protected with a coat of Single-coat Wonder Finish that gives the panel a perfectly natural look.

Pure Paper is the new brand of Oberflex decorative laminates. 350 models divided into 2 collections, Color and Metal, whose design was entrusted to designer Patrick Norguet.

A reinterpretation of ornamentation.
The theme of ornamentation in the era of digitally-controlled machines. Patrick Jouin reinvents the Marotte sculpted panels and plays with all the possibilities afforded by the machine. The Rencontre collection features 16 models that are each available in 8 colors and can be assembled in an infinite number of combinations.

Oberflex issues SuperOrganic, a line of 14 models of 100% natural wall coverings, made exclusively from plants and designed for wall applications, furniture, doors, ceilings, etc.
